Do You Know?

  1. Deep water aquatic training was created for all levels of fitness. With the aid of a specialised vest or belt, the body is suspended in the water, preferably without the feet touching the bottom of the pool.
  2. The device worn for this fitness technique permits a variety of movements in the water without any impact on the musculoskeletal system. Therefore, exercising in the deep water is unlike any other workout as it creates a zero-impact environment.
  3. Benefits of deep water training
    • Muscular imbalance can be prevented or corrected as equal tension is applied by the water to the entire body.
    • Any resistance created is constant and smooth, thus preventing overstress injuries.
    • The entire body is cushioned by water, protecting weight bearing joints and internal organs.
    • Water provides constant resistance, causing muscles to work concentrically, and eliminating or reducing muscle soreness.
